Oliver Judd is the CEO of NECA (National Electrical and Communications Association) the peak industry body representing the interests of the electrical communications contracting industry across Australia.

In addition to the National CEO role, Oliver also serves as the Executive Director of the NSW, TAS, QLD, ACT and WA branches individually, retaining responsibility for the overall governance, financial performance, and operations of all staff.

Oliver commenced his working career with the Honorable Sam’s, DP at the NSW Industrial Relations Commission before joining the MBA Industrial Relations Department.  In 2008 Oliver joined NECA NSW to manage the commercial and industrial relations department and from 2012 was appointed to the positions of Executive Director of 5 of its 7 branches of NECA and in 2020 was appointed CEO of NECA National.

Oliver has a law degree in Industrial Relations, Public International Law from UTS, Sydney. As a legal practitioner with extensive experience in commercial and industrial relations law, Oliver has a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit, legal and charitable industries, and a wealth of knowledge of the electrical contracting industry.

Oliver also served as a Director on the board of the NECA Foundation, a charity with the remit of advancing the electrotechnology sectors and its participants.  Oliver is also an alternate director for the Mechanical and Electrical Redundancy Trust (MERT) which is responsible for the investment and management of payments received from employers to safeguard the redundancy payments of employees in the electrical contracting industry.

Oliver is the NECA representative on ACCI and Standards Australia and has built strong and trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders nationally and across the broader building and construction industry, as well as with representatives from local, state, and federal governments.

Oliver is skilled in negotiation, budgeting, operations management, strategic planning, industrial relations and business development.

As NECA’s CEO Oliver has delivered significant business growth, greater financial scrutiny and increased membership while successfully leading organisational initiatives relating to people, infrastructure, finances, and stakeholder engagement, including:

  • Oversight of NECA National, with direct leadership of five state branches.
  • Organisational restructure to increase sustainability and financial viability.
  • Establishing a workplace culture and mindset.
  • Formulating policies, recommendations and serving on multiple boards.
  • Leading negotiations on enterprise agreements.
