Overview

Jacques has been in legal practice since 1997.  He was admitted to practice as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2003 and has been registered to practice in Queensland since 2007. Prior to moving to Australia, Jacques has also been admitted as a Solicitor in South Africa since 1997.

Jacques has extensive experience in construction contract reviews, construction litigation and alternative dispute resolution in QLD, VIC & NSW.  Jacques have represented clients in litigation before the Supreme Courts of New South Wales and Queensland and has appeared in lower Courts and tribunals in NSW and QLD.  He has also assisted clients with Adjudications under the relevant security of payment legislation in most jurisdictions including WA, VIC, NSW, QLD and NT.  As an accredited adjudicator, Jacques deals with matters under the Security of Payment legislation in both New South Wales and Queensland and serves on the panel of the QBCC as an Advanced Adjudicator. 

In QLD Jacques also advises client regularly in relation to the Subcontractors’ Charges Act 1974 and has represented client’s in all levels of the Courts to enforce charges under the Act.

Jacques also has a specific interest in the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (PPSA) and advises clients regularly in this new area of law in Australia.
